Sustainability is an important part of how we operate across all areas of our business
From farming and production through to packing, storage and transport we are committed to continually improving efficiency and minimising waste.
Farming across a range of soil types to suit the intended market for each crop, alongside careful variety selection and crop monitoring, helps us manage inputs efficiently whilst maintaining crop quality. We continue to increase our use of non-synthetic fertilisers and reduce our reliance on synthetic inputs where possible, whilst also increasing regenerative practices that support long-term soil health.
Alongside our commercial production, we continue to carry out a substantial trials programme to assess new growing techniques, fertiliser programmes and varieties that support an improved sustainable production. In addition to improving operations in the field, we have invested significantly in renewable energy and installed solar power across our packhouse and wash site. This has helped reduce our overall carbon footprint significantly whilst supporting the long term sustainability of our operations.
